Sumiko Sato TRIO (Sumiko Sato: piano, Ippei Ito: bass, Takafumi Kakizaki: drums) challenges music-making, regardless of genre or style. Every single piece is a final product of long creative process in reflection of their new musical insight. They frequently include improvisation in their works, along with various instruments such as violin, flute, oboe, guitar, trumpet and saxophones.
The upcoming album "Lotus" is a collection of such works---completely original, comprised in the hope of Recovery and Rebirth of their home Iwate from the 2011Tohoku Pacific Earthquake and Tsunami.
